Seeking Food Donations!

With summer coming to a close and the holiday seasons approaching, Humanitarian Service Project (HSP) is in need of several non-perishable food items for its Senior Citizen Project (SCP).

Every month, HSP helps prepare and deliver food to needy seniors enrolled in the SCP. The goal of this project is to provide nutritional food for the needy elderly in DuPage and Kane Counties throughout the year, thereby alleviate the suffering and humiliation that poverty brings. Boxes filled with food products from all major food groups—grains, fruits, vegetables and meat—as well as other items such as paper products, cleaning products, personal hygiene products and gifts are delivered right to the senior’s door every month by volunteer drivers.

All of this is made possible by contributions from wonderful companies, organizations, and individuals that support HSP. Every little bit counts and takes us one step closer towards meeting the needs of our seniors; a food drive is an excellent way for a group to collect donations, but individual donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated. The following items are especially needed:

  • Canned Meats
  • Salmon
  • Tomato Products
  • Drinks
  • Cereal
  • Oatmeal
  • Soup
  • Rice
  • Potatoes
  • Pasta Meals

  • Candy
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Syrup
  • Pancakes
  • Peanut Butter
