Much Needed Backup

Humanitarian Service Project (HSP) would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Dupage Regional Office of Education (DROE) for the donation of 100 backpacks full of school supplies to go to area families that need them. HSP, having taken on the goal of providing area children in need with necessary school supplies, had previously assisted the DROE in its back to school fair on August 3rd, alongside the county and Catholic Charities. We would like to thank DROE, and particularly staff member Lynn Strevell, for dropping off the backpacks yesterday, August 22nd.

Humanitarian Service Project’s school supply drive is ongoing and, thanks primarily to the efforts of individual donors and groups like DROE and other service organizations, we have been able to supply more than 1000 children with the necessary supplies. However, more than 100 children are still on the waiting list for supplies, and there is likely to be even more need for supplies once school begins and teachers and parents assess their children’s needs. If you would like to make a donation of supplies, they can be dropped off anytime from 9am-5:30pm at the Humanitarian Service Project Office: 465 Randy Road, Carol Stream, IL, 60188 Phone: 630-221-8340.
