Lesley Ronson Brown serves selflessly!

We want to acknowledge long-time volunteer and key Speakers Team member, Lesley Ronson Brown, for conducting a school supplies drive for the HSP. Lesley is a fantastic yoga teacher and teamed with the Yoga by Degrees yoga salon where she teaches to encourage their patrons to help needy kids get the school supplies they urgently need. They put together a beautiful email announcing the school supplies drive and Lesley's husband created a great sign for the donations collection box at the studio.

I’ve included a copy of the email to show how some creativity and effort can benefit the community and help the HSP make sure that the students in our schools have the necessary tools to do their best in the classroom! They included all of the requested supplies and the HSP website. Please call if you need some ideas on how you could do the same at your place of work, etc..

Way to go, Lesley!

You can contact Lesley at yoga123@comcast.net

Giving Back is a part of our Yoga practice...

Karma Yoga means the "discipline of action." Simply put, karma yoga is the practice of serving others selflessly. When we take up a path of karma yoga we are taking our practice off the mat and putting our yoga into action.

The true spirit of selfless service is an expression of the heart rather than an act driven by obligation or ego. When we give back and expect nothing in return we are truly giving to ourselves as well as our community. Without it being an intention, karma yoga helps to reduce our ego and experience feelings of pure contentment.

"Is the intention pure, selfless, and born out of love? Is it based on truth? Does it result in peace? If so, it is a right action." Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Thank You for Supporting The Humanitarian Service Project and for doing your Karma Yoga!

Namaste,
Yoga by Degrees
