Rotary Club of Addison

On Wednesday, Paul Yambrovich, our staff member in charge of speaking engagements, spoke with the Rotary Club of Addison. He explained to the group all of the different programs that make up the Humanitarian Service Project. He had a big display board that described what each program offers. He also brought in a Child’s Birthday Box as a visual for the presentation. Diane Junokas opened up the box and pulled out everything that was inside. Everyone was shocked as to how much a $54 CPB sponsorship buys for a needy child.

The Rotary Club of Addison usually sponsors the seniors in our project. However, after viewing the Birthday Box they decided they would like to help out with the Children’s Birthday Project as well. One Rotary member, Don Hendricks, pulled cash from his pocket to put towards sponsoring a child. This started a chain effect and soon other members were putting forth their money as well. Altogether they donated $180 dollars right on the spot. These funds will sponsor and provide three children in our project with a “Special Day.”

We greatly appreciated such a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Addison. HSP could not be so successful without the help of loyal donors and volunteers.
