School Supplies Delivered to Needy Kids

school supplies for needy kids.
Today at the Humanitarian Service Project we were very excited to send off our two cargo vans packed to the brim with school supplies to four schools in Aurora. These donations were dropped off at the schools by our wonderful volunteers Bill Fehling and Jeff Marker. The four elementary schools; Gates, Krug, Oak Park, and Hermes, all serve student populations where over 90% of the children live below the poverty line. With their families struggling to make end meet, many children at these schools don’t have access to all the school supplies they need. We at HSP are glad we could send supplies off to these four schools knowing they would get into the hands of children who need them.

This delivery of supplies to these schools is phase two of HSP’s annual School Supply Drive. At the beginning of the month, we sent a van load of supplies to Kane County’s “Project Backpack” and two vans full to the DuPage Regional Office of Education’s “Back to School Fair” for needy families. Through all of these deliveries, HSP’s School Supply Drive has equipped over 3000 impoverished children with the supplies they need to succeed in school this year. We wish to thank everyone who participated in our School Supply Drive, for helping us make it such a success!
