Yesterday, HSP
received the second part of a very generous donation from our friends at the
Naperville Junior Woman’s Club (NJWC.) Annette Koch of the NJWC dropped off 20
wonderful “personal care kits” that the club created for the impoverished
seniors enrolled in our Senior Citizen Project. This donation was the second
part of a larger donation as the club dropped off 65 more of these kits last
month. Each of these kits contains hygiene products that will help the seniors
in our program maintain a healthy lifestyle. They include; shampoo,
conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, lip balm, hand sanitizer, soap,
and dental floss. As the chosen charity for their Community Improvement Project
for 2013 and 2014, HSP has received a great deal of wonderful support from the
Naperville Junior Woman’s Club. HSP wishes to thank them not only for these
kits, but everything else they have provided for the needy seniors and children
we serve as well.
The 123 seniors
enrolled in our Senior Citizen Project all suffer heavily under poverty. They
cannot afford all of the items needed to keep healthy. For that reason, every
three months HSP includes a personal care kit along with their monthly grocery
delivery. If you too are interested in providing these kits for needy seniors,
you can learn more by checking out HSP’s website: http://humanitarianservice.org/getinvolved/index.html
