Allured Business Media Senior Endowment Campaign Continues

           Last Monday, HSP started a Senior Endowment Campaign with our partners at Allured Business Media to raise money towards a new senior being permanently enrolled into our Senior Citizen Project (SCP).  For every dollar raised up to $7,500, Allured Business Media will match this amount, providing $15,000 for a new senior’s enrollment into SCP.  For many seniors, money and mobility limit them greatly, so finding a way to pay for all of life’s expenses, such as rent and food, along with being able to afford medicine and medical bills, can become extremely stressful.  Currently, HSP has 123 seniors enrolled in SCP, and each of these seniors is helped greatly each month because of the program.  With the help of Allured Business Media’s Senior Endowment Campaign, $15,000 will permanently provide an impoverished senior with numerous life-saving groceries and other services that they will receive through SCP.  

The Senior Citizen Project delivers 100 pounds of groceries to each senior every month; they receive seven fresh fruits, eight fresh vegetables, seven types of frozen meats, six bags of non-perishable food, Pepperidge Farm bread, two bags of paper products.  Seniors also receive “Secret Pal gifts,” a small, fun gift caringly selected and purchased by each senior’s own “secret pal.”  Along with the groceries and Secret Pals gifts they receive each month, every three months, each senior can look forward to receiving a personal care kit, complete with items such as soap, shampoo, and toothpaste.
