Yesterday, we at the
Humanitarian Service Project had a very wonderful visit from our friends at
UPS. Todd Westberg and Jim Slanker from the Technology Department of the Aurora
UPS office brought with them a generous $2500 donation that their office raised
to help us support our programs. Since last year, the office has been raising
funds through the profits of snack and soda sales. Todd and Jim told us around
120 people participated and they took to the sale with enthusiasm. Thanks to
their kindness, we will be able to use the money they raised to better serve
the needy seniors, children, and families in our programs.
UPS places a
strong emphasis on community involvement and helping to support the neediest
members within the communities they operate in. Todd and Jim said that they
wanted to reflect this priority through this fundraiser, and they were excited
at the opportunity to lend their support to the variety of programs we at HSP
run to benefit the neediest members of DuPage and Kane Counties. We at HSP are
very grateful for the support not only from the Aurora UPS office, but from our
friends at UPS Supply Chain Solutions right here in Carol Stream and other UPS
volunteers and donors as well.
If you too would
like to help HSP in our efforts to make a difference in the lives of needy
seniors, children, and families living under poverty, you can learn more from
