Unbelievable Christmas Thanks To Unbelievable Donations

100_1184 This year, HSP has received some very generous donations. Between Play Station 3’s, Xbox 360, Bikes and American Girl Dolls, we are speechless at the contributions our donors have been making to the Christmas Offering. We cannot say enough about how blessed we are for each and every donation that comes through our doors or onto our dock. We also cannot express adequately what it means to not only us, but the parents that we serve to see the community come together and help out those who can not put gifts under the tree themselves. The children are going to have unbelievable Christmas and all of our donors helped make it possible.

Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!!!

Toys for All The Good Little Girls & Boys

100_1152 Ask and You Shall Receive and HSP did just that. Thanks to the all the out-of-this- world donators, our 835 needy children who are part of our Christmas Offering will not only be receiving gifts this Christmas, but also hope.

Thanks to the generous heartfelt donations, we are able to give the gift of Christmas to more needy children. All the extra toys, will find a home, with children on our waiting lists. Shifting our focus, we can start to provide for the 500 children that reside on the waiting list. With our extraordinary volunteers giving a hand, we are busily preparing gifts for those children who would not have Christmas otherwise.

We cannot thank the donors enough for helping these children in need. Thanks to you not only will the 835 children in our Christmas Offering, but the children on our waiting list have a Christmas for the books.

It is never too late to send a check or bring new toys (especially for children 8-12 years old) and help those who truly need it!!

Delivery Day Success

D day December 2010 066

Despite a chilly weekend, Senior Delivery Day was a success. The loaders bundled up tight in their winter gear and were ready to make many our 120 seniors very happy. The 9 brave volunteers took on the cold and put all 90 pounds of items in the cars where the fantastic volunteer drivers then took it to the eager senior’s homes.

Thank you Delivery Day Drivers and Loader for warming the hearts of our 120 seniors this past Saturday. The day would not have been a success without each and every one of you!!

Next Stop, The North Pole!!

DSC04699It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and HSP is starting to look more and more like the North Pole as the days go by.

Yesterday Humanitarian ServicDSC04715e Project was in full swing thanks to fantastic volunteers who worked hard in getting the gifts ready for the families who begin picking up this Saturday Dec. 18th as part of our Christmas Offering. Giving their time and energy from 3:30-7:30pm the 62 volunteers sorted and organized the giving trees that have been coming in over the last few weeks as well as toys that have been given through toy drives. With us serving 832 children as well as countless children on the waiting list, there was much to get done in preparation for the Christmas Offering.

Giving Trees By The Bus Full

DSC04649

Today giving trees are rolling in. Downer’s Grove North High School Direct Action arrived this morning with a school bus full of giving trees. Filling the entire bus was 152 families’ gifts. With not enough room in the bus to fit it all, a little school bus pulled in after to deliver the 30 seniors gifts. All these gifts are going to make our seniors and children feel extra special on Christmas. Leading the group was their advisor Karen Brown, Lisa her helper and the eight student team worked together to take the giving trees out of the buses, and one step closer to the families that are eager to receive them. Advisor Karen Brown was excited that they were able to support so many needy families this Christmas.

Downer’s Grove North has been doing giving trees for us over the past 15 years and we are very blessed to have their growing support all those years.

Thank you so much Downer’s Grove North Direct Action for your out of this world donation. We could not bring Christmas to all those who need it without you!! We cannot thank you enough!!
