Today we had 18 volunteers from Midwestern University in Downers Grove help prepare HSP for our last Feed the Kids Pickup date which is tomorrow, August 3rd. Sarah Grindstaff, our Senior Citizen Project Coordinator, led the group as they helped box the 18 different beautiful types of produce from Caputos.Along with the delicious produce, we are also giving the families four boxes of non-perishable food including everything from pasta to juice weighing in at over 100 pounds! We are also donating 8 different types of frozen meat to the families, the groceries totaling to over 250 pounds of food for each family. The total retail value is $497 for this food.
