We want to acknowledge a little girl who is having a huge impact in the lives of needy children in our community! Ava Silverstein just turned three this past week. Instead of having friends bring gifts to the birthday party, her mom requested that guests bring donations for Party-in-a-Bag kits for the Children’s Birthday Project birthday boxes.
Her mom, Simeren, said “Ava is blessed to have plenty of toys already and we wanted to be able to help other kids have a great birthday”. Simeren has helped coordinate many other donations to the HSP through her role in the Women in Business group with the Carol Stream Chamber of Commerce.
Well, Ava must be a pretty popular girl, because this great idea generated enough supplies to put together at least 40 Party-in-a-Box kits!! Guests also brought new toys to donate and at least 2 parents decided to write checks to sponsor children in the Children’s Birthday Project!
We are so thrilled to have such a young philanthropist (and her parents) as
great friends of the Humanitarian Service Project. Happy Birthday, Ava!
