As we head into the last couple weeks of July, HSP’s School
Supply Drive is in full swing. We have had a lot of wonderful donations come in
already, but we are still in need of supplies to reach our goal of equipping at
least 3,000 low-income children with supplies to start school in the fall. Each
year, HSP collects supplies and distributes them through DuPage Regional Office
of Educations’ “Back to School Fair” and Kane County’s “Project Backpack”,
which will take place in just a few weeks. HSP will also distribute supplies to
some local schools in DuPage and Kane counties that have a high population of
low-income families and for the first time we will be supporting the Carol
Stream Police Department’s “National Night Out”. In addition, school supplies
will be included in birthday boxes for the children enrolled in our Children’s
Birthday Project.
