HSP was full of energy today as we conducted our second Feed
the Kids distribution day of the year. HSP’s Feed the Kids program takes place
during the summer months, serving 100 families whose children are enrolled in
free/subsidized meal programs at school. These children do not receive this
food during the summer, and this is where HSP comes in. Through Feed the Kids,
we provide families with 175-200 pounds of non-perishable food, fresh
fruit and vegetables, bread, and a variety of meat.
Our
program would not be as successful as it is without the help of all of our
wonderful volunteers. For this distribution, we had the pleasure of working
with individual volunteers, as well as volunteers from the Carol Stream “Panther”
chapter of the Young Men’s Service League and from the National Charity League.
HSP would like to thank all of these men and women for giving their time to
help those in need in our community, and for making our Feed the Kids program
possible.
