HSP is Accepting Food Donations All Year Long

Summer is a busy time for the Humanitarian Service Project. There are over 15 tons of food leaving our pantry in the months of June, July and August. We need to replenish our warehouse to ensure that needy seniors and children in the area can have healthy and nutritious meals.

The Senior Citizen Project serves 121 seniors living in the Dupage and Kane County area. Every month they receive fresh fruits and vegetables, non-perishables, bread, frozen meat along with paper products and personal care items. We deliver over six tons of food to the seniors each month, which means all of your donations are greatly appreciated!

Feed the Kids program provides meals to 375 children when they are out of school for summer break. They receive 175 pounds of groceries composed of 15 varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables, three 25-pound boxes of non-perishables, frozen meat and bread that are nutritious in order to keep them healthy. Altogether, we deliver nine tons of food to needy children in the Dupage and Kane County area.

Food donations are appreciated throughout the entire year. If you’re interested in helping, we’re looking for food items to provide to needy seniors and children in our Senior Citizen Project and Feed the Kids Program.
