Care Kits from Some Caring Kids

Last week HSP received a wonderful donation for needy seniors from some thoughtful, young philanthropists. The 5th grade “Ambassadors” from Forest Glen Elementary School in Glen Ellyn collected, sorted, and donated “personal care kits” for impoverished seniors in our Senior Citizen Project. These caring young students collected the supplies and made 25 complete kits, which include all the hygiene products needed to allow these seniors to maintain healthy lifestyles (shampoo, conditioner, lip balm, toothbrushes and toothpaste, floss, lotion, soap and hand sanitizer.) They also donated seven full bags of extras of these items. This is the third consecutive year that the Forest Glen Ambassadors graciously collected and created these generous kits for our seniors. We wish to thank them for continuing this great support.

In addition to sending them nutritious groceries every month, HSP endeavors to provide the 123 needy seniors in our program with commonly needed household items. These items allow our seniors to continue to maintain their health and independence. In order to allow us to make this difference in the lives of these very deserving seniors, the generosity of donors, like the Forest Glen Ambassadors, is instrumental.
