Thanks Firefighter’s Fund!

HSP would like to issue a big “thank you” to the Chicago branch of the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company.  Every year, the Chicago branch of this national, insurance company dedicates several days to community service. This year, HSP was lucky enough to host a group of three volunteers today as part of one of these “Days of Sharing”.

During their time at HSP, the three volunteers helped HSP prepare for the Senior Delivery Day, which is this Saturday October 20^th.  In preparation for delivery day, they assembled and organized all the necessary produce boxes, and spent three hours sorting and distributing onions and potatoes for each senior. 

On our monthly delivery days, each needy senior served by our project receives 90 pound delivery containing fifteen varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables, numerous non-perishable foods, bread, personal care items, paper goods, and a gift from their “secret pal.”
