Today HSP was visited by the
familiar faces of Ms. Heggen’s class from Glenbard South
High School . This wonderful group consisted of twelve
volunteers who spent two hours in our warehouse sorting frozen meat for the
seniors we serve. Every month the class comes to offer their helping hands so
that they can get real world vocational and community service experience.
The time spent sorting frozen meats
will help HSP in distributing food to needy seniors enrolled in our Senior
Citizen Project. There are 123 local seniors that this project serves receiving
100 lbs. of fresh and wholesome food every month.
HSP would like to thank the
volunteers of Ms. Heggen’s class for continually engaging in our mission to alleviate the pain and suffering that poverty
brings, and in this case helping our local seniors in need. Their time spent
with us is always appreciated, and we look forward to seeing their friendly
faces soon!
In order to offer continued support
to our local seniors apart of the Senior Citizen Project, HSP collects donations
and is fortunate to have helpers like the volunteers that visited us today. If
you have any interest in contributing to the support we provide for the needy
in our community, you can find more information by clicking on the following
