Today
is the last day of the year for us at Humanitarian Service project and we would
like to thank everyone that has supported us through this year to help make it
as successful as possible. It has been
an amazing year and we have been able to help many needy families in the
community but we would not have been able to do as much as we did without the
help and support of everyone. We just
finished the Christmas offering and we were able to serve over 1,600 children!
We were able to fulfill the needs of every family that called us requesting
Christmas Gifts.
This season was truly amazing and it was a great joy for all of us to be
able to help so many people in need. It
was awesome to see so many people come together during this season to show the
true meaning of Christmas. It has also been a great year for our year round
projects: the Senior Citizen Project and The Children’s Birthday Project. We
want to thank all of those who gave their time and resources this year to
enable HSP to continue to reach out to these needy members of
the community. We are always in the need of senior and child sponsors to help
us be able to continue these projects.
We support 121 needy seniors every month with
over 100 lbs of fresh groceries. We also support about 900 children every year
with all the essentials to be able to have a birthday party including 6-12 new
toys, 6-8 books, and a party in a box kit that includes cake mix, streamers,
candles, party favors, etc. to provide them with a memorable birthday.
Other highlights of the year were
our annual Feed the Kids Program that provided 100 needy families with 175 lbs.
of grocery packages in the months of June, July, and August and our Back to School Drive that provided over 2,000 needy children to be able
to go back to school with the necessary school supplies they need to succeed. All these programs have been a huge success
this year thanks to all the amazing volunteers and donors and we are looking
forward to reaching even more people in need next year.
We would like to wish everyone a
safe and blessed holiday and hope the next year comes with joy for everyone. Just a reminder that we will be closed on
Monday December 31 and Tuesday January 1 and we will reopen on Wednesday
January 2 at 9:00 .
