The Outreach program at Benet Academy in Lisle recently donated $800 to the Senior Citizen Project and $200 to the Children's Birthday Project.
Benet's Outreach program allows students the opportunity to help improve the life quality of underprivileged people. In order to raise the money for the donation, the students held a fundraiser last spring in which students could pay $2 to dress out of uniform for a day. Nearly all of the students participated.
Director of Outreach, Elizabeth Byers, said, "We have been donating toys and other items to HSP since before I took over as director, so it is a tradition, so to speak. It is always a positive experience working with HSP and we admire all that HSP does for the residents of DuPage County!"
