Create Your Own Campaign!

HSP has a new way for you to do what you love while supporting a great cause. With our new platform, you can design your own personalized campaign and get your friends and family involved to make a difference in the lives of low-income families throughout DuPage and Kane counties! Run, bike, walk, or swim to raise money to provide happier birthdays for local children. Host an event like a game night or concert for your neighbors or coworkers to sponsor a senior in the Senior Citizen Project. Challenge your friends and family to a race and see who can raise the most funds that will provide food for a family in the summer months through our Feed the Kids program. The possibilities are endless, just like the opportunities that HSP provides to impact change in your community. Follow the link to start your own campaign, and use your interests, hobbies, and talents to make a difference! https://www.classy.org/charity/humanitarian-service-project/c28267

School Supply Drive

As the summer of 2016 continues the school year is fast approaching, bringing with it classes, studying and tests. It also, for the Humanitarian Service Project (HSP) brings our annual School Supply Drive closer and closer. HSP provides school supplies for over 3,000 low income children throughout DuPage and Kane Counties. We accomplish this by going through local “Back to School” fairs in early August and providing school supplies in september to schools with high populations of low income students. In order to be able to distribute when the fairs start HSP is currently accepting donations of new backpacks, notebooks, folders, pens, and other school supplies. If you or someone you know is interested in helping these kids you can drop off donations at our office at 465 Randy Road in Carol Stream or you can contact us at 630-221-8340 or if email is more your thing you can reach us at hsp@humanitarianservice.org

Feed the Kids July Delivery Day

As the fireworks die down and July continues the Humanitarian Service Project (HSP) is holding its second Feed the Kids (FTK) distribution day of the summer. During the summer in June, July and August HSP provides over 26 tons of nutritious groceries to 100 low income families. In order, to make this difference for these hard working families HSP is in need of “sponsors”; a donation of $75 for a month or $225 for the summer will enable HSP to combat summertime food insecurity for a local family in need. HSP would like to thank everyone that donated to make this happen so we can continue to provide for the underprivileged families of DuPage and Kane County.

Thank You to Nikhil Reddy from Boy Scout Troop 8

HSP would like to say a huge thank-you to local Boy Scout Nikhil Reddy from Troop 8. For his Eagle Scout project, he raised funds and then repaired the sign outside our building that had been damaged in a storm last November. Nikhil, his fellow scouts and his family not only secured our new sign, but completely refurbished it. Nikhil and his team worked hard to build a stone base around the sign, which they landscaped as well.  We thank Nikhil for his service, and our beautiful new sign.

Support Kristin and Allyson's Campaign!

Time is running out to support HSP team members Kristin and Allyson in their campaign to provide nutritional support and happy birthdays for low-income children! Kristin and Allyson both celebrated their own birthdays in the month of June. Instead of gifts for themselves, they generously requested that their friends and family donate to their campaign in order to supply gifts for children in HSP’s Children’s Birthday Program. They are already more than halfway to their goal, so visit their campaign at https://www.classy.org/fundraise?fcid=697201 to donate, wish them a happy birthday, and help provide a happier birthday for kids in need!
